My Special Place

There are times I want to get away from home

the confusion, the stress, I have enough of my own

So I go to my special place

where I can be alone in my own private space

There is lots of moss around,

and multi-colored flowers spread throughout the ground.

While I'm there, I sometimes read,

or play in the lake, or climb a tree.

Or else I sit upon a grassy mound

that I am really glad I found

I lay back and just relax, and think of pleasant things.

I feel the sun's rays on me, and hear the crickets sing.

And toward the end of my day as I've been on my own,

I start to miss my family, so I hurry home.
